We have received a new design to honor our 10th year anniversary!

This new design will be offered as a limited edition and will only be available as a pre-order that starts now! So, if you like to be one of the lucky ones who wear a one of it’s kind FSRE design than don’t hesitate and place your pre-order now. Only successful completed payments count as a pre-order. Once we have collected a descent amount of pre-orders the design will be printed and shipped as soon as possible.

Why pre-order? Because we are a non-profit organization and we simply don’t have the budget to start printing this design right away.

The new design will be printed on a Dark Forest Green heavy cotton with a light green print, as shown below:

Happy anniversary!!

Dear one and all,

The FSRE is celebrating its 1oth anniversary because we are online since 2002!!
We are proud of our 10 years of loyalty towards the mushroom community worldwide. A special thanks to all users who believed in our concept and supported us during the years. Remember that we, at the FSRE, only provide a service, a service that can only be made possible by the support of the user of this service. Serving you all for 10 years does show how many people benefit of this kind of service. Without the help of the user there is no service to be used!

Keep aware of the importance of your contribution so this service so it can maintain for at least the next ten years!

As a little extra we have launched Project #15 again, offering you a limited amount of syringes! May these syringes be in benefit of both the user and FSRE…

Temporary delay

Dear all,

Recently there is a delay on returning all requests! I’m working hard to keep it up, but this delay does effect all requests. And because of the Holiday season I even has less spare time to spend, so this delay will continue in the coming two weeks. I can guarantee that I’m back on track next year, in January 2012 all requests will be processed on the regular base again!

Panaeolus cyanescens “Jamaican”

Pretty fast colonizing strain, especially on dung/straw mixed with birdseed. You will need experience with growing mushrooms and working with straw and dung/compost for getting a harvest with this nice strain. It won’t fruit with PF-Tek like Cubensis. Here one technique with what I have pretty nice crops:

You need:
Birdseed
good soil with organic fertilizers in it
hay/straw
toilet paper roll

First let the hay/straw and the birdseed soak with water over night. Next day simmer it about half an hour and then let it cool and drip down another 30 mins. Now mix the soil with the (cutted) hay/straw and fill the cultivation vessel about 1cm. Put the roll in it and fill it with the birdseed, then outside the roll soil. Remove the roll and put another layer of soil on it. After sterilizing, innoculate in the birdseed.

Incubation temperature: 25°C – 28°C
Primordia: 20°C – 23°C
Pinning: 22°C – 24°

McKennaii

The first appearance of this strain was in Dutch smartshops. It was available as a fresh mushroom shortly after the dead of Terrence McKenna. We belief this strain was named after Terrence McKenna in order to honor him. This could be a marketing trick from the smartshops, but still it’s very honorable to name a strain after Terrence Mckenna.

The following info is according to the website of one of our sponsors, which offers this strain as a Growkit:

“The McKennaii might be even stronger than the popular but difficult to grow Hawaiian (Copelandia cyanescens). No doubt the McKennaii is the strongest cubensis in our catalog. This one is for the more visualy interested. Dark brown caps with an odd shape and thick sturdy stems.”

Also this info could be part of the marketing trick!
